Six Things You Need To Know About Ltci And Waiver Of Premium

By t

When you get a long term care insurance quote you need to think about the waiver of premium benefit. This is a benefit and if you choose not to opt for it, it could affect you in the long run. Here are six things to consider with the waiver of premium.

1. The waiver of premium on a long term care insurance policy allows an insured person to not pay the premiums if you become in a position where you cannot pay them due to illness or a disability.

2. You must have been paying on the long term care insurance cost for a specified amount of time before you are eligible to use the waiver of premium. This will usually be specified in the insurance policy papers the amount of time you must be paying on the policy for it to be effective. Some policies allow this premium to begin immediately. This should be included in the long term care insurance quote if it does.

3. A waiver of premium only applies to the residential care benefits only. If you use your policy for home health are then you are not allowed to use the waiver of premium for this.

4. The long term care insurance cost will differ depending on the waiver of premium. The better the premium the higher the quote will be. You must be making your monthly payments on time and in good standing. There might be stipulations to the waiver of premium you should be aware of should you need to use it.

5. A waiver of premium can include a survivorship waiver also. This is for couples who have a joint long term care insurance policy. When a couple has this clause and a spouse dies the other person no longer is required to pay the premiums for the rest of their life.

6. The waiver of premium is designed for people who become ill and are no longer able to pay their premiums because their income is cut dramatically due to the loss of the ability to continue employment. There are often stipulations on what constitutes for a waiver of premium to take effect.

Never stop making your payments without contacting the policy first. Always be sure that your long term care insurance quote includes the specifics of this benefit. This could cost you your entire policy if the policy is stated that way. It is important to keep in touch with your policy at all times. Don't get a long term health care policy without a waiver of premium benefit included.

Six Things You Need To Know About Ltci And Return of Premium Benefit

By Terry Stanfield

There are many benefits of a return of premium benefit or policy you might consider when you get a long term care insurance quote. Here are six things you should know before you make a decision on long term health care.

1. A Return on premium benefit includes a death benefit that is payable upon your death. This can take care of medical bills, lost income, and secure futures for your children. The money can be used any way it needs to be used in the event of your death.

2. When you get a return on premium long term care insurance quote you will find that this benefit is free of income taxes of the federal government. This means that your family members will not have to pay a large percentage out of the death benefit if they need to exercise this.

3. With a return on premium long term care insurance policy you are rewarded for outliving the policy itself. This means that if you live up until the end of the level premium period and you still have a policy in place, you will get 100% of the premiums you paid into the policy. This is one amazing savings account and can mean a lot of fun for the rest of your life.

4. If you exercise your right to get a refund on your policy because you have outlived it you are also not taxed by the federal government for this. The goal to a policy like this is to remain healthy so you can get all of your money back.

5. After you receive a refund for the total amount of the premiums you have paid you can still continue your policy. The policy will be renewed with an annual renewable term and the rate is guaranteed when you determine the initial long term care insurance cost.

6. The money eligible to be paid to you includes premiums before the expiration date. You will not be paid any money of the policy that includes riders or other additional risks that were paid. This means that the total amount of money you paid in will not be what you get back. You will get the amount minus additional benefit fees paid in. When you determine the long term care insurance cost you will know the amount going into the return of premium.

A long term care insurance quote should include a return of premium benefit. This is an excellent way to secure you or your family's future. If you outlive your policy you will get all of your money back paid into the plan.

Six Things You Need To Know About Ltci and the Elimination Period

By Terry Stanfield

The elimination period is an important factor when you get a long term care insurance quote. It can make a really big difference how much money you have to pay or the type of coverage you have should you need to exercise your rights to long term care. Here are six tips that should help you make a decision on the type of elimination period you have.

1. An elimination period on a long term care insurance policy is the time frame you wait until your long term care really kicks in. This is also known as the 'waiting' period because you have to wait for the policy to become effective.

2. You can decide how long your waiting period is or isn't. A waiting period can be from 0 days to 100 days if you like. It is important to mindfully think about this period properly so you are not in a position that you need care and you do not have it.

3. The shorter the elimination period is that you choose the higher the long term care insurance quote will be. This is because you will actually have coverage when the period ends. During the time period that the waiting period is in effect you will not be paying as much money for coverage because technically you will not be covered.

4. If you get sick during the elimination period you will have to pay for the costs associated with the long term care policy. This can be very expensive if you need to be hospitalized or you need any type of home health care coverage. Be sure you are in good health and that you will not need any care for as long as you choose to have the elimination period.

5. When you look at a long term care policy it is important to consider the cost. The long term care insurance cost will be different depending on the amount of time you want the benefit period to last for and many other factors. You will pay less money in the long run if you opt not to have a waiting period, should you get sick.

6. Should you choose a long elimination period on your policy you will not be able to change it later. This may cost you thousands. Be sure you really know what you want for a long term insurance policy before you agree to it.

When you get a long term care insurance quote it is important to consider the elimination period you have on your policy.

How To Take Care of a Baby - Making Things Easy

By Alice Sy

We're going to have a baby!" That is the phrase you would simply utter if you found out that you're going to have a baby. Of course, you are overjoyed and simply can't explain your feeling. That would also be the time that you become aware of all you read and hear on how to take care of a baby.

There are many services available to help you answer your question on how to take care of a baby. These services, usually pregnancy classes or mother's classes help both the mother and the father be prepared for the changes that a baby at home can impose. If you are nervous and feel quite unprepared for rearing a baby, then try attending these classes. Most of these classes are free and are scheduled on your free time.

How to take care of a baby? There are many things to consider, especially for first-time parents. First of all, you have to know proper diaper service. Another energy saver is the disposal of diapers, which you could use the first few days that you are on your own. These are not meant for day-in and day-out use but help wonderfully to tide over an emergency.

Perhaps one of the most important lessons this mother service can offer you is to teach you how to take care of a baby when he or she is sick. Nothing can seem any worse in the world that to have your baby be afflicted with an illness or condition.

Pregnancy classes or mothers' classes can help you familiarize yourself with the most common conditions your baby might experience as he or she grows up. This can include colic, teething, ear infections, aspiration and more. The more prepared you are, the simpler the question of how to take care of a baby would appear. One screaming baby is enough. You don't need to add your worrying and panicking to the situation.

Another reason for crying is that he feels too hot or too cold. So, make sure that the mattress and the sheet where he sleeps are smooth and comfortable. Still another reason is when he feels tired and sleepy. When you know how to interpret these, it'll make you're life simpler.

But what if the baby is ill? It is natural for a new parent to imagine something very serious if the baby shows signs of illness, or they just think he is ill. Don't waste time. Phone a physician and tell him your baby's condition and he'll do whatever that is necessary.

There are still more things to consider on how to take care of a baby. The ones mentioned are only the basic. In the long run, you will eventually learn the trade of motherhood.

Six Things You Need to Know about Ltci and Home Health Care

By Terry Stanfield

When it comes to home health care there are many things you need to consider when you get a long term care insurance quote. These things should be included in the policy and you should be sure you are quoted for them too. Here are 6 things that should be considered when it comes to long term insurance and home health care.

1. The long term care insurance policy should offer at least one year of home healthcare or nursing home coverage or even both. This should also include intermediate custodial care. If you can get this time period longer you might want to consider it.

2. An inflation option is another consideration when you get a long term care insurance quote. The best inflation option will increase the benefit level periodically without you needing to provide proof of your insurance.

3. The long term care insurance cost should be clear about the elimination period. An elimination period to an insurance company for long term care is a set number of days a person must be in home health care before the actual policy kicks in. If you don't meet this number of days you will be responsible for the bill and nothing will be covered.

4. Any long term care insurance policy should give you a time frame of cancellation. You need to be sure you have the right to cancel the policy for any reason you choose within a reasonable time frame like 30 days. This should give you a full refund if you choose to cancel.

5. A long-term health care policy also needs to include a guarantee that the policy will not be canceled on you. Many insurance companies have canceled policies on people when they end up with a mental health condition or just as they age. Be sure the policy includes a promise the policy will never be canceled due to a health condition or age.

6. The policy itself needs to clearly explain the benefits included with the policy. All of the terms and the limitations should be detailed and defined. You need to know the exact amount of money you will pay out of your pocket should you become ill or need home health care.

There are many things to consider when it comes to home health care and obtaining a long term care insurance quote. Don't go with an insurance company who will drop you as you get older or sick. Also make sure you are fully covered for things you might think may happen to you.

Six things you Need To Know about Ltci and Indemnity Long Term Care Insurance Payment

By Terry Stanfield

When you get an indemnity long term care insurance quote it is important to know a few things first. This is a good policy for you if you are on a limited budget. Here are six very important things you should know about this type of policy and the payment you might have.

1. An indemnity long term care insurance policy has a fixed amount of benefits. There is a cap on this. Unlike an inflation policy this amount will cap out at a certain amount.

2. The long term care insurance cost for the monthly payment is always the same. If you are on a fixed budget and you cannot afford a changing or increasing monthly payment you most likely will benefit from this type of plan. Your payment will remain the same regardless of the type of expense that has occurred.

3. An expense incurred plan reimburses you the amount of money you have to pay for care up to the benefit amount you have paid into. For example, if your benefit amount is $300 a day for long term care and you need someone to help you twice a week at $100 a day you will be paid the full $300 amount. Many plans will leave the money in your account or your pool of benefits available for you. Some will cut you a check.

4. An indemnity plan will only pay the long term care insurance cost only if a medical expense was incurred also. If there is no medical expense then the benefit amount will not be paid to you.

5. An indemnity monthly payment is what you want it to be because you have the ability to choose the amount of benefits you want to have per day, month, week, etc. When you get a long term care insurance quote you can specify the amount of benefit when you get the policy. Many people base this on their income and what they can afford to put into their long term care.

6. As you can with other long term care policies you can share an indemnity policy with your spouse. You can pay a monthly payment into the policy and use it accordingly if either of you should need any type of long term care.

An indemnity long term care insurance quote looks much nicer to people than an inflation quote because the payment remains the same throughout the lifetime of the policy or you.

By Amanda Maseko

Birthdays are one of the most important events in our lives. This day signifies our arrival in the world and the celebration of it is a commemoration of that first time we've ever came into the world, most especially for our precious baby.

Sometimes, a baby bash becomes an adult get-together when there are no other babies that could be invited. But try to have other babies around to keep the atmosphere on a baby bash.

Whatever you have decided what the baby bash must be like, keep in mind that the baby's comfort is more important. Sometimes, there are babies who are afraid of clowns. You must have an alternative activity in mind in case this happens.

A baby shower

Babies are so much fun. But baby games shower are much more fun since moms-to-be, godparents, grandparents, and other invitees in the baby shower can get to play childish games again. Some of the baby game shower that can be played include Sing It, Baby!, Measuring up Mommy, Here's Looking at You, Kid!, Don't Say Baby, Baby Truth or Dare, The Seventh Gift, and Dig out the Pins.

Remember how you looked when you were a baby? This game takes you down memory lane as you need to dig up those baby pictures of yours. Because you need them to play the baby game shower "Here's Looking At You Kid" Before the party itself, request all the guests coming to bring the cutest baby picture of themselves. Upon their arrival, secure each baby picture and assign a number per picture. During the game, lay all baby pictures and give each participant paper and pen and ask them to identify as many baby pictures as they can. The guest with the most number of correct guesses is the big winner.

A baby game shower makes you NOT say what you are suppose to be attending to! The game Don't Say Baby is precisely that! Don't say "baby" during the entire length of the baby game shower for the diaper pin that was given to you upon your arrival will be taken away from you. The person with the most number of diaper pins collected at the end of the shower party wins a prize.

Babies: Crying and Gift Basket Ideas

By Amanda Maseko

A baby cries the most during his or her first three months. Though the amount of crying steadily increase, the crying time period may vary from an hour to most of the day and this could still be considered within normal range. Like, whoah, right? Babies are also known as howling tear factories.

There are many reasons why a baby succumbs to crying. Deciphering these reasons is the major feat a parent must surmount. Here are some of the things your sweet some baby is making you understand through crying.

Some other times babies are disturbed by certain things such as reflections. So look around to see what may be moving around.

Some baby gift basket ideas

Nursery room items. These include colorful mobiles to keep the baby busy, lullaby music to soothe the infant, and nursery rhymes CD's. Bigger items like layettes, changing mats for tables and cribs, and other furniture for the baby may be found in de luxe baby gift baskets. Educational toys are also good to make the baby gift basket more beneficial in stimulating the baby's mental development.

Toys R Us. The following toys are also nice to place inside your baby gift basket. Rattles, pacifiers, teethes, feeding bottles, infant cups, bibs and spoons are also useful add-ons in your baby gift basket.

If one is intending to give the baby gift basket as a baby shower present, it will be nice if baby cookies, baby cakes, jelly beans and other baby foods will be found there. Announcement and invitation cards may also bring some added surprise to the recipient of the basket. Small picture frames and albums could also add more fun to your baby gift basket. Surely, this sweet gesture will be appreciated.

If the one giving the baby gift basket intends to give it during a christening celebration or baptism, a small bible, silver cups and any symbolic item that adheres to the theme of the celebration and that the recipient's religion appreciates may also be placed in the basket.

Sperm Donation Requirements

By Thulas Sukati

Sperm donation is an alternative method of providing sperm for conception to a woman or couple, the sperm donor is a stranger. The male that does this is called a sperm donor and the facility where it is checked and stored is called a sperm bank.

Those who practice sperm donation usually do so with their identity withheld but laws exist to ensure the sperm is not used on too many occasions. When the donor is known it is usually because of an agreement between a woman or couple to have a baby using the sperm of someone close to them.

Although the practice of anonymous sperm donation is much more the norm and details of the donor are withheld from the recipient. While initially the sperm donor may wish to remain anonymous, this may not last as recent changes in the law in some countries means that a sperm donor or children conceived with his sperm may wish to contact one another.

The health of the sperm donor is paramount and tests for HIV, disabilities, sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and syphilis, drug abuse or any genetic conditions are carried out on the sperm donor. With safety in mind, sperm banks have become very cautious in recent years and a sperm donor's medical history must be studied along with the type of person he is so that this information can be used when sperm is matched to the recipient.

Once that is complete, the sperm will be subjected to further tests to check that sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and syphilis, for example, are not present but other details like his blood group and RH type will also be taken at this time. Safety of the woman and her child are paramount so these test will ensure neither are at risk from infection contained within the sperm.

This is made possible by tests carried on the donated sperm at the sperm bank and to ensure the sperm will be viable, all details are carefully recorded before the donor can be registered with them. Once this has been completed, all sperm donations are placed in quarantine for approximately six months so that the health of the sperm can be checked thoroughly.

Male infertility can mean that many infertility treatments currently available will not be possible if the man suffers with male factor infertility. There are a number of sperm issues that make it difficult if not impossible for a man to impregnate his partner such as abnormally shaped sperm, sperm that do not move properly or a low sperm count. Increasing numbers of women and couples trying for a child are finding the benefits of sperm donation to achieve their dream.

Babies, Blogs and Motherhood

By Mrs. Taylor

Blogging may be the last thing on your mind when you are busy with a new baby. New mothers all learn that taking care of a baby can be exhausting. It seems like baby always needs to be fed, changed or cleaned up. With all these demands on your time, it may seem a bit unrealistic to think there would be any time left to write a blog.

Amazingly, more and more women are finding time to share their take on motherhood during this exciting phase of life. Blogging can help new moms get through a rough night with the baby and can help distant family members feel like they are taking part in the baby's life.

One of the biggest benefits of blogging for new moms is that it gives them a place to vent about the trials and tribulations of new motherhood. Babies can take awhile to develop good sleeping patterns, which usually has mom up at all hours. With the popularity of the Internet, more moms are choosing to spend this time online rather than just plop down in front of the television. While surfing the net, many moms are discovering that blogging lifts their spirits and helps them feel productive by giving them a place to share their fears, their frustrations and their joys.

Many new moms find that writing a blog makes them a part of a community. Many moms find it challenging to juggle a normal social life with a new baby. Blogging can help you stay connected so you don't feel so isolated. Babies need constant attention, so lugging them out to a party or other gathering can be difficult, if not downright impossible at times. Fortunately, the internet is full of other mothers in the same boat. By connecting with other mothers through blogging, you become a part of a new social circle that keeps you from feeling alone.

Another way to use a blog is to celebrate your adorable new baby! A blog gives you the opportunity to dote on your little one and reflect on how motherhood has affected you. Sharing these revelations can make them even more meaningful. Family and friends can tune into your blog on a regular basis to get updates on baby's growth and new accomplishments. The new blogging software available for free on many blog sites make it easy to post photos and even videos, so your family doesn't miss any of those important milestones. They will feel like they aren't missing a thing.

Purchasing The Best Quality Baby Crib For Your Child

By Chris Channing

Your babies bed is probably one of the most important things you can buy him or her in their young years. A crib should be comfortable, and safe for your child. Some cribs are low quality and offer little benefits for children, and some are better than adult beds!

The design, shape, size, and structure of a crib is very important. Poor materials and designs will make a cheap crib, and not ideal for your baby. Since children are good at breaking things, you should purchase something that is sturdy and durable for them.

Another important thing to look out for is the bars around the crib. Some cribs have narrow bars, which is ok. And some have widely spaced ones, which is not ok. Wide spaced bars can result in your child escaping from the crib, or getting stuck between the bars. It is dangerous and frightening to think of your precious child getting stuck in the crib bars that are supposed to protect him. Some cribs come equipped with a lowering side rail. Children are really clever at lowering these, and when they get a little older, it will be an easy task for them to escape their crib. It might be a bad idea to get a crib with one of these, for safety's sake.

Finding a crib with cushioned edges is also a good idea. You can buy sets that come with those, but its easier if the babies crib comes prepared. Little ones are likely to hit their heads on the hard surroundings of the bed, and that can be very dangerous for a child, especially for the first few months. Head injuries can be fatal, so your babies crib should never be too rough or hard. This could result in a fatality or damaging accident.

Even though this does not pertain to safety, finding a quality crib at a decent price is a good way to go. Not everything has to be expensive, but its not suggested that you buy the cheapest out there. Baby cribs are a special thing, and people like to keep them for a lifetime, and for use as a family heirloom. A high quality crib will last many generations.

Baby Showers 101: Etiquette

By Charmaine L. Smoot

Being aware of etiquette helps the hostess of a baby shower ensure her event is a success for the expectant mother and guests. While many of the formal practices observed in the past have been relaxed, many of the traditional rules of etiquette have survived for a very good reason: they take the guesswork out of planning the shower and help set everyone's expectations!

Invitations - Setting the Tone of the Shower

Give everyone plenty of time to prepare for the baby shower by sending out invitations at least two to three weeks ahead of the event. This allows plenty of time for guests to 1) plan their schedules, 2) find a sitter for their kids, and 3) shop for a fabulous baby shower gift.

Hosting - The Best Baby Shower Gift You Can Give

Traditionally, a friend, but not a relative, of the expectant mother was expected to host the shower to avoid having it look as though the family were soliciting presents. Now, however, anyone can throw the baby shower to honor the mother-to-be including the expectant mom herself!

Because hosting a baby shower can be quite expensive in terms of both time and money, someone who gladly volunteers for the honor is best for the job. Never put someone on the spot and ask him/her to host a shower. Volunteer hosts who are happy to perform this service for their friend or family member are the best hosts to have.

Timing of the Shower

The baby shower is usually held before the birth of the baby. In the very late stages of the pregnancy, there is a tendency for fears to set in for a variety of reasons - bodily discomfort, stress, worry about the delivery - so the baby shower is often times just the diversion the mom needs to ease her mind.

The sight of loved ones gathered to celebrate her pregnancy helps remind the mom-to-be of the importance of her pregnancy. Now, traditionally, showers were only held for the first child, but now, that's out the window! Showers are now acceptable for subsequent children, including those who are adopted.

Guest List

While it may be tempting to do all the planning for the expectant mother, having her input on the guest list is critical. There may be many guests she'd like to include on the guest list whom the host doesn't know. And though traditionally, baby showers were only for women, the mother nowadays can choose to have both men and women at her gathering. In fact, a greater number of baby showers are being held for both the mom and dad today.

Behavior

Since the purpose of the shower is to celebrate the arriving baby, congratulations to the expectant parents(s) are expected of every guest. And as with any party, guests should also thank the host for holding and planning the shower.

Filipino Maids: Philippines' Pride

By Alice Sy

Many Filipinos are leaving their native country, the Philippines, to search for a better life, for a better future for their families. Many of these Filipinos end up working as Filipino maids in foreign lands, particularly in the United States, England, Italy, Greece, France, and in practically every country of the globe.

In certain countries abroad, such as in England, only the wealthy and the powerful can afford the services of a female Filipino servant, so having one at home only indicates that that family belongs to the upper class. The rich in Italy have also taken notice of the good qualities of a Filipino servant.

It is a known fact that Filipinos are known for its incomparable traits - hardworking, hospitable, and honest. These simple virtues are the very passport why Filipino helpers are very in demand abroad. No servant ever wakes up at four or five in the morning and sleeps at midnight but the Filipino. Much more, no is content in scrubbing the floor, or cleaning the toilet bowl but the Filipino.

Indeed, Filipino servants are able to do things maids from other countries can not afford to do. For example, only a maid from the Philippines can take on the job of cleaning the toilet bowls without complaining.

Filipino helpers, whether a college graduate or not, are observed to be naturally intelligent and resourceful. They can pick up instructions without further questions. They, too, work hard without supervision. The word workaholic is indeed, due to a Filipino. She'll simply work and work and will only stop if said so by her boss. At times, they can also be feisty. They would even argue with their employer about a certain problem. They also know how to find a way and get out from every trial.

One advantage that Filipino servants abroad possess is her fluency in English, thanks to the American colonizers. Compared to Mexicans, Chinese and other nationalities, Filipinos have deeper vocabulary in English and can comprehend better with their employers.

Aside from these, Filipino helpers are generally very warm, sensitive, and affectionate, thus they can easily bond to their foreign employers, considering them as their own families. Because they are so far away from home, they tend to treat their employers as their closest kin. Their employers, touched by this show of affection, also treat these maidservants from the Philippines as part of their family. Because of this, it sort of becomes a habit for these maids to bring pictures and stories of their employers when they go home to the Philippines.

But there is more to the name Filipino than being just called a servant. What makes Filipino maids endear to the heart of the world is not actually the physical looks. More than the hard work and dedication, a Filipino works with a full heart, a simple ingredient that no employer has ever found in other nationalities.

Decorations for Baby Showers

By Charmaine L. Smoot

Need a guaranteed way to make your shower unforgettable? Why not set the mood from the moment your shower guests arrive with memorable decorations?! Fun and beautiful decor create excitement and set the tone of the event, and the secret to succeeding with decorations is simple: choosing a theme. After you set a theme, the other parts of your baby shower will fall together into a cohesive whole: color, general decorations, wall decor, table decor, and, everyone's favorite item, food.

Baby Shower Theme

The possibilities are literally endless. Let your imagination run wild while letting your financial circumstances set limits. Here are just a few ideas to get your party juices flowing fast:

- Nursery Rhymes - Who doesn't cherish their memories of these?

- Tea Party - Perfect if you know the baby is a girl.

- Disney Characters - We all have fond memories of our Disney pals!

- Diaper Party - The baby will always have enough diapers to wear with this theme. Send out diaper cut-out invites, decor, and asks guests to bring diaper packets.

- Stuffed Animals - Which one's your favorite?

- Barefoot and Pregnant - Is the expectant mother the first one in her group to have a child? Let her know everyone's behind her by asking guests to come to a "Barefoot and Pregnant Party" dressed in stuffed shirts to signify their "pregnancy" (yes, even the male guests!).

Color

The chosen theme can guide you in determining the color for the baby shower. But what if you have a theme that works with any color? Simple, you can always go with the classics: blue for an expected boy or pink for a girl. If the gender of the baby is unknown, yellow and green have traditionally been used. White has recently emerged as another gender-neutral shower color, signifying purity and innocence. So whatever color you decide on, make sure you use it to tie together the other elements of the baby shower.

General Decor

Regardless of the theme you end up choosing, there are certain must-haves for every baby shower. Streamers, balloons, and banners set a festive tone. The balloons can also do double-duty when tied to a fence or post in front of the house to help arriving guests identify the location of the party.

There's no better way to remind all the guests of the real reason for the get-together than by having a completely "done" baby crib near the entrance to the party. Then, not only is the tone for the event set perfectly, but the baby crib can also be used as a stunning gift table.

Table Decor

A baby-themed tablecloth with matching disposable tableware, baby cloth diapers as placemats, and themed centerpieces are popular baby shower decorations. For unique centerpieces, use stuffed animals holding small baskets filled with baby shower favors.

A diaper cake, and a vase of fresh-cut flowers in the color of the theme are other table decor options. Decorated diapers hung with clothes pins on a line, napkin holders made of baby bracelets, baby- or animal-shaped cookies, and the traditional stork placed outside the host home's door all add to the festivities.

To "polish" the look and feel of your party, make sure you have matching tableware. Coordinating plates, cups, spoons, forks, and napkins go a long way toward establishing the theme of the festivities, and these supplies can be easily found in most party stores. For the tablecloth, white is the most classic color for it, and you can easily jazz it up for the occasion by sprinkling animal- or baby-shaped confetti on it.

Food

Whether you prefer home-made or store-bought, having plenty of yummy food for guests is always the right choice. Need some ideas? How about a white layer cake, chocolate candies, macaroons, yogurt-covered raisins, marshmallows, or chocolate-covered nuts? They're all fun items that can be bought at the local grocery store. Try serving milk in clear, plastic baby bottles. What about vanilla ice cream instead? Food party favors are always a hit, too, as they give them a steady supply of goodies to snack on while gifts are being opened. Try white chocolate-covered almonds served in white baby booties and tied together with a white satin ribbon.

There are so many ways to creatively decorate a baby shower. Be an imaginative host and use this occasion to not only honor the expectant mother and her child but to sharpen your creative muscles. Hopefully, the ideas we've presented will prime the pump and set you on your way to a successful shower. Have fun!

Baby Shower Invitations: Here Comes the Stork

By Fabian Toulouse

The key purpose for hosting a baby shower is to regale the mother-to-be with gifts for the newborn or expected baby. These gifts include baby diapers, clothes, toys, and so forth. Baby showers were historically uncommon, and if they were held, only the expecting mother and her female relatives and friends would attend. However, baby showers have become common nowadays, and men are starting to accept baby shower invitations as well.

Baby showers were typically celebrated for the family's first child. But, as times change, they can be given for any and all successive babies. These showers were usually held for expecting mothers, but more and more parents started to celebrate baby showers even for newborn babies. It is interesting to note that in some tribal cultures it is considered taboo to buy the unborn child any gifts. Since miscarriages are common occurrences in these cultures, it is thought too traumatic for the mother and relatives to have baby items after the fact.

Baby showers are usually hosted by the expectant mother's friend or a family friend. It is considered low-form for either the mother herself or the mother-in-law to host the shower. Baby shower gifts can range from the usual (diapers and baby bottles) to the thoughtful (personalized toys and heirlooms).

A baby shower is celebrated with food and beverages. The meal is often served prior to the mother opening her gifts in front of the guests. Hip showers feature baby-related games such as guessing games that have guests guess the due date, the baby's gender, and the mother's girth. Unusual games like guessing the flavor of baby food and diaper-throws, with the diapers filled with candies and chocolates, are also played.

Apart from receiving gifts, baby showers provide the mother with access to a host of generational advice. This allows the mother-to-be to solicit parenting tips and advice and also secure such vital services as babysitters and pediatricians. It is essential the expectant parents send the baby shower invitations at least a month before the shower date. They should give enough time for their guests to confirm their attendance to the party. Most invitations will also provide a baby registry at an assigned store for gift ideas.

Childbirth can be Comfortable?

By Sara Mendez

Few mothers describe the birthing process as stressful, more often than not, mothers describe it as exciting and happy. The long awaited arrival is about to make their entrance and mother and child will at least be united. There is only one thing that could ruin this excitement, a problem with the baby.

Women who do natural child birth will tell you, their labor was far from painless. However they have one thing women who use epidurals do not, assurance. While not every birth is normal, without the use of medications, women can feel confident they are minimizing the side effects on the baby. Many new moms shy away from natural child birth because they do not know what to expect and are afraid it is going to hurt. New mothers sometimes do not stop to consider the following, every year newborns suffer side effects from epidurals during birth. While not every child will have these problems, there is no guarantee yours will or won't have them.

"Epidural fever" is an infection that 30% of newborns whose mothers use epidurals will suffer. The illness is much like an infection and doctors treat it by immediately isolating the baby and administering IV antibiotics. Other fetuses will be at risk for a lower heart rate, decreased oxygen levels and emergency c-sections all due to the mother's body reaction to the anesthesia. If the mother has problems with the epidural, most likely the baby will as well. If the baby continues being exposed to a stressed mother, often the doctor will order a c-section which will only include using more drugs therefore increasing the odds that your child will be exposed to side effects.

The APGAR test is the first test the baby will undergo before leaving the birthing center. This test is administered one minute after birth and again at five minutes after. The APGAR evaluates the baby's breathing, coloring, activity, pulse and grimace. A low APGAR test is a red flag for doctors that something might be wrong with the baby. However epidurals can create false positive results in newborns mainly in the breathing category. Because of low or increased heart rates in the womb, the newborn is prone to abnormal respirations and pulse readings which can cause the doctors to worry. Under natural birthing conditions these abnormal readings would be cause for concern, however if the mother is using an epidural there is no way of knowing if there is truly something wrong or if it is a false alarm.

Since the APGAR test assesses the baby's breathing, coloring, and pulse, many mothers hear these results and panic regardless if they are a false positive or not. This causes even more stress to their bodies as these areas are must critical to the baby's well being. Many women reported to birthingnatually.net, that they experience tremendous anxiety when hearing the low test scores until they hear the second higher reading.

Every woman has the right to choose which birthing method works best for them. However no method is completely safe. Even with natural child birth there are risks and problems. Everyday you are faced with risks, once you are a mother, the risks will only continue to come, few times will you have a choice, and it seems senseless to expose a fetus to medication side effects when the side effects of natural child birth are generally pain and discomfort.

Embroidered Baby Clothes are Now More Easily Accessible

By Jenny Moore

Do you remember when you were a baby and your mom used to dress you up in plain baby clothing that all of the other babies were wearing? Of course you don't. The fact is that somewhere deep in your psyche you do in fact have subliminal memories of those fashionably traumatic times. How about the matching plaid dresses that you and your sibling had to endure during the holidays.

Believe it or not, the fact is that clinical researchers have found that babies as young as six months old have a sense of self and even recognize and have preferences for colors shapes and design patterns. This means that young babies recognize when they have on threads that they like and possibly have a rudimentary "sense of style".

The good news now is that personalized and unique baby clothing designs are now more easily obtained and affordable than ever before. One new look that is in is the monogrammed dresses and shortalls. Just because your baby can't speak, doesn't mean that they can't flash a big smile when they are heading out the door looking their finest.

Also monogrammed special occasion clothing and baby blankets help to make your babies wardrobe show more style during the day. For the first year of your babies life he or she is going to have more pictures taken of them then all the rest of their years combined.

This means that you will always want your little peanut to be dressed in his or her finest clothes. The good news is that unique and personalized bay clothing is so easy to find on the Internet, because more and more baby clothing boutiques are featuring it. Also custom monogrammed baby clothing is just as easy to have produced at many of these same online sources. Choose from custom birthday Invitations that coordinate with Birthday outfits and theme birthday hats.

5 Features That You Can Find in a Cheap Diaper Bag

By Jen Stoddart

Just because people want an inexpensive diaper bag it doesn't mean that they have to sacrifice style and functionality. For under $70 moms and dads can buy a great bag that... * Is built with quality * Provides great value for the money spent * Helps parents to be organized when out-and-about with their baby

Here are five features to look for when you are in the market to get a new diaper bag.

1. Well designed - look for a bag that is designed with lots of spots to keep your baby stuff - like diapers, wet-wipes, clean clothes, baby rattles, soothers and so on. Look for one that has a pocket to keep your baby's milk or water bottle cool when you are away from home with your child. When all of the stuff that you need is organized so that you know where everything is it makes so much easier to change your baby's diapers quickly - and that's what is important.

2. Built in change pad - there are diaper bags on the market that provide you with the flexibility of a built in change pad for changing your baby. Imagine how great it would be to be able to unfurl a built in change pad virtually anywhere... in a washroom, on a picnic table, almost anywhere.

3. Well made and well priced. A good quality, very functional bag can be purchased for around $70. Quite often the bag's warranty will give you an indication of how well it is built. The longer the warranty quite often the better quality the bag. Look for one with a 2 year guarantee.

4. Has a cool look - just because you want a cheap diaper bag it doesn't mean that you have to sacrifice style. Look for one that will look good on you when you are carrying it. Try to purchase one that is designed for women and men alike. That way either mom or dad can carry the bag and show the world what a great parent they are. How fantastic is that!

5. Easy to take with you. Your bag has to be functional and at the same time you'll want to make sure that it easy to carry especially when you also have the baby to carry. It will be helpful if the diaper bag can be carried over your shoulder, better yet if it can be slung onto your back like a back-pack, and make sure that the strap is long enough that it can be looped over the handlebars of your stroller.

Get Some Candy with Halloween Costumes

By Hetsil Protage

You can make your own Halloween costume or you can purchase one. It all depends on how much time you have. There are a lot of Halloween costumes on the market today that are perfect for trick-or-treating, or Halloween parties. Even if you're a very devoted Halloween fan, though, you probably don't want to spend a lot of money on a costume.

If the Halloween costume is meant for your child, you can choose from a wide array. Most adult costumes also come in smaller sizes for children. This is great if you as mom or dad want to dress up as Mickey Mouse while your child dresses up as Minnie Mouse, for example.

If you are looking to couple with your child then why not also consider, as above, a theme by maybe buying a Shrek Halloween costume for yourself and your child cold dress as one of Shrek's babies or as Donkey and again both Halloween costumes are easily obtainable and you two would be adorable together and adorable spells candy.

If you are a fuddy duddy and getting dressed up in a Halloween costume is not to your liking but you still wish to find a Halloween costume for your child, you need look no further than what they like on TV today. There are plenty of Hannah Montanna or Miley Cyrus Halloween costumes as well as any of the Disney Princess' if you have a daughter.

If your child is a boy, this, too, can be quite easy. Simply choose an old shirt, some leggings, and a bit of red paint (for blood) to have your boy go as a pirate. If your boy is a little choosier, you can choose among more advanced costumes such as Frankenstein or a zombie.

If you as an adult want an elaborate Halloween costume, you can also look to movie or TV show themes. For example, if you like Star Wars, Darth Vader might be an option. And of course, you always have ghouls, zombies and grim reapers to choose from.

If you need to go Halloween partying as part of a couple, don't worry. There are lots of Halloween costumes available for you, and you can be sexy in just about anything. A little creativity (as well as some looking online) will give you just the ideas you need to give you the perfect Halloween costumes. Edited by Hetsil Protage

Baby Safety

By George Maxyme

Protecting your baby is of paramount importance for many reasons, and no particular reason is more important the other. When a newborn is first introduced to the world, there are a host of dangers, both expected and unexpected. This article is about preparing for some of these dangers.

Sunlight is essential to babies' health; it creates Vitamin D, through interaction with the skin. This helps the development of healthy bones and the autoimmune system, among a host of other benefits. Too much exposure, too soon, can lead to sunburn and possible skin cancers later in life. A good approach to feeding your baby sunlight is to introduce natural sunlight in small portions, at low exposure and limit the time spent in direct sunlight. Indirect exposure to sunlight is the safest method of getting the healthy benefits of the sun.

One other area that needs protection is your baby's ear canal. Bacteria can grow if the ear canal is too moist, and this will lead to ear infections. There are other causes of ear infections, such as allergies or when fluid accumulates behind the ear drum and causes swelling in the middle ear. One way to help protect against trapped fluids is to keep your baby's head and ear above the water line when giving baths. Also remember to position the baby's head so that water drains away from the ear canal during head shampoo or face wash.

Physical protection is an area we sometimes take for granted. When babies, become toddlers and start walking, curiosity rules their senses. They move fast, so their physical protection is of paramount importance. One of the leading sources of danger to babies and children under 14 years old is drowning, which can occur in any body of water including the bath. Drowning happens quickly and silently, so it is the responsibility of parents to find methods to protect against this danger. One sure way to protect against drowning is to have one-hundred percent of your attention on your baby, while in the bath, or on your child around the pool or body of water. Statistics reveal that drowning and near drowning occurs within seconds on immersion into the water.

Imprinting Baby Sleep Pattern

By David Bostwick

A baby will develop his or her sleeping habits a little at a time. Their sleeping patterns are fully formed by about 3-months. Following are some tips for identifying and fostering infant sleeping patterns. After all, when a new baby in a household sleeps, everyone else can too.

We all know that a newborn will sleep a lot. The newest babies will sleep and eat on demand. You should respond to those needs quickly. The pattern they follow is wake, eat, poopy, and then sleep and then it starts all over again. Make a note of the timing for these events and make a chart.

Encourage the baby to sleep alone, but always remain nearby. The newborn baby will sleep better if swaddled in a baby blanket or held close to a parent's body. The warmth and feeling of being held is familiar and comforting to the baby. You will find your baby sleeps easier in one of these situations. DIFFERENT PAra THAN PARA 2

Don't give up and stress out if the baby doesn't take to your desired schedule immediately. It takes time and dedication. Keep your mind focussed on what you want to accomplish, a life time sleep pattern for baby.

At dusk darken the bedroom where the baby sleeps and discourage stimulation other than quiet time. Keep the household quiet and somber. At nightfall take care of the needs of the baby; sleep, eat, and poop. Then, of course, lay the baby down again. Resist with the baby. This will only disrupt the cycle you are trying to imprint. This tip will encourage your newborn to sleep at night and be awake during the daytime.

Some feel it is easier for the infant to be in the parents room or even in their bed. When nursing this can help gain access to both mother and baby. The comforting warm of the mother will definitely help the baby sleep well. "Safe sleep" should be stressed here if you put the baby in bed with you. Limit the number of pillows and blankets nearest the infant. Smothering is a very real risk or rolling over the baby while you are asleep.i

When the newborn is 3 months old it is about the right time to start putting him or her in their OWN room in their OWN bed. As stressed earlier it is very important for your baby to learn to sleep alone and in his own room. I know a lady whose girls (2) are elementary school age and she still has them sleeping with her and her husband. You may need to give the infant a little extra comfort; signing, patting on the back and, as a last resort picking up. Give the comfort necessary but then return the child to his or her bed shortly afterwards.

After a while you will notice, almost as if by accident, that your baby sleeps and baby naps at regular intervals effortlessly. Your household has returned to "normal" and everyone is getting a good nights sleep too. Watch for my article on the next hurdle - getting baby to sleep through the night.

Don't Read This If You're Happy With Your Direct Mail Campaigns

By Celine Horan

Your grandpa's marketing campaign of sending out flyers and letters, is just that: grandpa's strategy. It's old, slow, and just doesn't appeal to people the way it used to. Nowadays people are "pushing their envelopes" with new strategies- ones that work in the present.

When a prospect picks up your envelope, together with his other post, he spends less than three seconds assessing whether or not to open it. Naturally, this problem means that direct marketers are tempted to "spill the beans" on the envelope; pushing their features and benefits, even the offer. This is a big mistake.

The envelope has one role and one role only; to carry the items it contains within it to the person to whom the envelope is addressed. That's it. The resulting fact has forced copywriters to dream up inventive ways to tease, and entice prospects to open the envelope, and read the sales copy within.

This has all been tested, too. There's an actual company out there that collected statistics- they took the time to record the rate of opening for envelopes covered with bells and whistles, and those merely with a stamp and return address on the outside.

What they discovered:

They found that when readers weren't sure what was inside, they were more inclined to open the envelope. They wanted to know what the offer was and not the name of the company since this can lead to conclusions with certain reputations.

There are some fantastic lessons to be learned here, namely...

Simple is Best

Don't reveal everything on the envelope. Timing is key to establish a great relationship.

Build a relationship

You know how you feel when you receive a letter that is addressed, "To the Owner" or "To Whom it May Concern". If you send similar envelopes to your prospects, you can guess how they'll feel. Go the extra mile to find out your prospect's name, title, and make sure both are spelled correctly.

Write out their Name

The best impression is to handwrite a person's name on the front. It creates a personal touch and gives your company a head's over the others.

Put your Logo on the envelope

If you are spreading your ideas to people that already know you well, including your logo would positively push them to open it more so. The logo normally goes on the front top left corner of the envelope.

Test, Test, Test

If you're not sure if your mailing is going to work out, then go ahead and do a small sampling to work out the kinks. Send out a couple of versions to smaller mailing lists and see how many responses you get for each version. Research can be costly, but marketing without it is really just building a bonfire to empty your moneybags into.

What Your Child Needs For Daycare

By thulas

The transition from full time home life to daycare can be hard for many children. For this reason, it is essential that the child's guardian make sure they are getting a place for the child that has the very best staff. Because of the nurturing environment they can offer, many families look to their immediate loved ones or acquaintances for possible providers. If that option doesn't work, parents shouldn't panic, because there are many other ways they can pick a great care facility for their child.

If the parent knows anyone else who has children that have attended daycare, they can converse with the child's parents about that experience. It is possible that you will receive both unfavorable and positive comments about certain choices and you can use both to help aid in your decision. While it is true that not every provider's personalities will match up with every child's personality, if there is more than one severe critique lobbied at a provider, there is likely to be a problem with that person.

If word of mouth does not direct you to a good caregiver, the Department of Social Services can provide you with a list of licensed daycare providers in your area. Your child's doctor is another valuable source, as many get to know the daily going-on of their patients. If none of those tactics work, try a phone book or newspaper. Any provider that passes the preview round should be thoroughly examined by both you and your child. This helps ease the eventual sense of trauma that the child will feel entering the provider's care because it gives a sense of familiarity.

Most daycare providers understand this sense of longing that children feel and will therefore allow the child to have a favorite toy or blanket with them. For many children, the homesickness that they experience will be lessened through this process. If your child is especially homesick, you can attempt to send with him or her, a picture of yourself or your family, providing that step doesn't make things even worse for him or her. If at all possible, try to stay for a little while in the mornings to help them settle into an activity - this will make the transition easier. Also, tell your child exactly when you are going to be returning and do not break this promise to the child. Knowing when the parent will return will make daycare much easier on the child and provide a greater sense of security.

Above all else, be positive as you leave. Since you want this to be a positive situation for the child, you cannot react negatively and expect opposite results. Watching the parents leave is typically stressful for any child, and crying is a typical result, but most providers report that even the heaviest cries will soon settle down and they will start to play after about fifteen minutes. Save the prolonged bonding time between you and the child for when you pick them up, as your good-bye should be a simple one before you leave.

Baby Stroller Safety Tips

By topoointernational.com

Tips for Baby Stroller Safety

The use of baby strollers has offered a convenience to parents on the go for decades now. Do we keep aware of the many red flags and safety alerts that accompany products designed for our infants and toddlers?

While it is unfortunate to hear of a baby and/or toddler to be subjected to strollers that may cause injury, and potential death, this information has been used to compile data that will allow parents to know and understand what safety enhancements are most important when selecting baby strollers.

Parents, like yourself, need to take the time to determine if the product is safe when purchasing a unit for your child. We have tried to provide data concerning the dangers that are associated with these devices, as well as some basic safety features that are important to the health and life of your child.

Alerts for Baby Stroller Use

According to Pediatric Emergency Care, there were a number of stroller related injuries responded to in the year of 2004 to the year of 2007 by the 911 Response Team in just one community. The statistics of this particular study indicated the following:

Of 241 different incidents involving shopping carts and strollers, there were 121 related directly to stroller use, during this study over approximately three and a half years.

The ages of the children that were involved in the stroller related injuries averaged between 0 months and 6 months of age.

Falls constituted the largest number of injuries, resulting in a percentage of 47.5% of all the cases.

59% of the injuries coming from stroller related injuries were attributed to the head area.

At least 18% of the children monitored also sustained an injury directly related to the facial area.

An ambulance transported at least 77% of the children evaluated to the local emergency treatment center.

While there were no deaths, it is estimated that a little over 8% of all the children involved were hospitalized for further treatment and evaluation of their injuries.

Based on the information obtained from this study, medical professionals determined that education should be an emphasis when it comes to parents who implement the use of baby strollers. It is believed that if parents are aware of the steps to keep their children safe in strollers, there will be less likelihood that injury and even death may occur while using this type of device.

Taking Measures for Stroller Safety

If you have purchased a stroller, or you are considering purchasing a stroller, it is important that you know and understand the basic safety measures that you can take in this situation. The following details some effective strategies that have been found to enhance the safe use of strollers.

1. Fact: Strollers that are narrow tend to have the most complications when it comes to leaning and tipping over. It is essential to ensure that you purchase astroller that has a base that is relatively wide. This way, there is a reduced opportunity for tipping and accidental falls.

2. There are many situations in which parents may be tempted to hang things on the stroller handles, such as purses and diaper bags. It is important to avoid the temptation to do this. By doing so, you are posing the possibility of causing a tipping over that can result in injury.

3. It will add security to the stroller for the child when you use the seatbelt attached to the stroller at all times.

4. Take the time to use the device that locks the stroller into place every single time that you are using the stroller. It is equally important to use the wheel locking devices when the stroller is not in movement.

5. you should never leave the baby stroller unattended. It is when a child is left unattended that the most injuries occur.

6. It is important to ensure that you thoroughly check the stroller before and after each use to ensure that the parts are all secure - especially the seat area and the wheel area. If you find that any parts are loose, do not place your child in the unit prior to fixing these components; or purchase a new unit altogether.

7. Product recalls are issued on a regular basis due to safety issues, hence is is wise to always evaluate the product that you have to compare it to the product recalls. If you find that your stroller is listed, simply discard it or follow the appropriate instructions on the recall list.

Conclusion

While strollers offer a number of benefits to the parents, these devices can also pose a danger to the children that are placed in them. It is imperative to ensure that you learn as much as you can regarding what can happen, and how to prevent these situations from occurring. If you do this, it is almost a guarantee that your child and/or children will remain safe.

Canadian Shoppers Getting Ripped Off Buying Baby Jogging Stroller

By Joe Peterson

The big producers of baby jogging strollers realize that the largest market for their products is the USA consumer - and as a result they focus their efforts on establishing retailers that cater to the American market. That is why is it so easy to find a wide array of US retailers on the world wide web that aggressively sell baby jogging strollers.

Moms and dads in Canada want to be able to get the jogging stroller that they want and at the same time be able to save money. At first glance, it appears that purchasing a jogger from an American online store will allow them to do just that - save money and get the best stroller for their family. It is not that simple.

Canadians can find the stroller they want at many American based on-line retailers, but one of the problems that the Canadian buyer may encounter is that many of the on line retailers do not ship to Canada. And if they do ship to Canada the extra costs of getting the stroller to Canadian customers is prohibitively expensive.

Here is an example of what can happen. Let`s say that you find the jogger that you want on the internet at a price of $279. The extra cost to ship it to a Canadian address is $60 (approximately). And then they have to have the paper work completed in order to clear the item across the border. To do that they hire a custom broker. That adds another $60 in costs. And finally the Canadian government adds on another $22 in import charges.

So you can now see that the stroller that you thought was going to cost you $279 has now been increased to cost you $421 ($279 $60 $60 22). Maybe this wasn`t such a great ideas after all.

You may decide to purchase a stroller from an on-line retailer in the US and then after the stroller arrives in Canada you may be surprised by a notice from Revenue Canada that you owe $22 for duty on the stroller. Then you may receive an invoice in the mail from the shipping company charging you a $60 or so for the customs clearance fee.

You can still get the stroller that you want, get it shipped to Canada and not be gouged for all the extra costs. Find Canadian retailers on the internet that have the costs of shipping to Canada, and the custom brokerage, and the import duty already included in their prices.

By doing this you will know upfront what the true cost of the stroller will be. Searching on the internet, based on our knowledge of the Canadian stroller industry, we know that you can find excellent, high quality jogger strollers for as low as $279 - and they are sold by Canadian internet companies.

So there you have it. People from Canada can save themselves a lot of money ($142 in our example). And not only can they save money they can also buy simpler and with confidence. All that has to be done is search on-line for Canadian retailers that sell the products that they want.

Maybe a Traditional Baby Jogging Stroller Is Not Right For You

By Joe Peterson

If you are considering a traditional 3-wheel jogging stroller, STOP! It may not be the right one for you.

Parents with young children are more and more committed to staying fit. They want to be with their kids as they go inline skating, or enter a 10 kilometer running race, or join a moms and tots walking club. Many of these folks have went out and bought a jogging stroller to help them stay healthy and fit.

Traditional joggers are great for serious runners/joggers. They are built to be easy to push and for a comfortable ride for their passengers. They have 2 16" wheels in the back (which provide the smooth ride and easy pushing) and they have one 16" front wheel which is locked in place. The fixed wheel is designed to keep the stroller tracking straight and true when out for a run. To turn the stroller you tilt it back slightly so the front wheel is just off the ground.

The fixed front wheel is a very important component of a traditional jogger. It keeps the stroller very balanced even at high speeds, and it also ensures that the stroller will go straight even over tough and uneven surfaces.

However, many parents that like to jog with their child want more flexibility from their baby jogging stroller. They want their stroller to be used both for jogging but also for other uses such as using the stroller at the mall.

The fixed wheel is great for jogging but it becomes a nuisance when out shopping because the stroller has to be tilted back onto its rear wheels to make a turn. And it is not the easiest to manoeuvre down the aisles of a department store.

The producers of strollers have now realized that there is a segment (a large segment at that) that desire more flexibility in their jogger. Sure they want to use it for going on a run - but they don't want to have to buy a second stroller for everyday purposes like going to the mall or taking their kids to the zoo. To address this need a new style of stroller has been introduced.

The big difference is that even though this new type of stroller still has two large back wheels (air-filled 16 inches in diameter which provide for a smooth ride and easy push) you gain flexibility in that the front wheel can swivel or it can be locked in place. When you want maximum maneuvarability like when you are out shopping or moving through a crowded airport you unlock the front wheel so that it swivels - making it easy to turn the stroller especially in 'tight' spaces. When it is time for you run or power-walk - you press a button on the stroller to lock the front wheel in place (straight-tracking mode).

* Easy to jog with on smooth terrain such as sidewalks and park paths

* Get maximum use from your stroller. Take it to the grocery store or to a busy amusement park (the swivel front wheel makes tight turning a breeze) or go for a run with the front wheel locked-in place.

* Just like a regular jogging stroller these are ultra-light. That's important when pushing it - and when you put it in and out of your vehicle.

* Durable - welded aluminium frame provides durability.

* Smooth ride - the large 16 inch back wheels provide for a smooth baby ride. All the tires are air filled which also improves the smoothness of the ride.

* Baby is safe and secure with the harness style (5 point harness) that these strollers are manufactured with.

* Protect your child from the sun. Many of these "hybrid" strollers have a very flexible sun cover that can be positioned so that your child will be blocked from the harmful rays of the sun no matter which direction the stroller is moving.

* Easy to fold - They have a one step process for folding down to a compact size for storage or placing into a car trunk.

* Adjustable-height handlebar. Many of these strollers come with a handle bar that be made taller or shorter with a simple push of the button. This is important especially if several people will be using the stroller - and they are of different heights.

* Affordability - The price for a top-of-the-line jogging stroller with a swivel front wheel can be found on-line for as little as $279.99.
