With Internet shopping at an all time high round baby cribs and accessories are more readily available and much more affordable than in the past. With such an abundance of choices they have grown a lot in popularity.

Round cribs have some unique safety features that make them even more appealing. Beyond meeting government safety standards, a round crib provides the added safety of having no sharp edges where your baby might be hurt. With a rectangular crib this will always be a concern.

A commonly overlooked advantage of having a round crib is the ability to put it in the middle of the baby's nursery. With the baby crib in the middle of the room you can access your baby from anywhere and you also give them the ability to enjoy the room at any angle.

Your baby will have the freedom to sleep facing any direction in a round crib. For a baby that likes to move around in their sleep this will make for a more pleasant sleeping experience.

There is the advantage of round bedding. Some people may have the concern of being able to find bedding supplies for a round baby crib at their local department store. However the Internet has a nearly boundless supply of retailers offering varieties of round crib accessories to meet any household's needs.

If you have tried looking in the local department stores and are finding accessories for round cribs to be out of your price range then consider checking the Internet for deals. There are suppliers and retailers online that will be able to offer you better deals than you can find anywhere else.

While in the past it may have appeared that a round baby's crib was too much of a commodity for the average parent, these days that is no longer the case. Round baby cribs are an increasingly common and practical solution for your baby's sleeping needs.

Baby Shower Diaper Cakes and Baby Gift Baskets Are Fun and Practical

By Edie Mindell

The art of giving baby shower gifts is all about creativity and individuality this year. Although there are many gifts that are suitable for both baby boys and girls, there are some items that make particularly great presents specifically for each gender. This article will offer some clever ideas that are perfect for any new baby boy shower.

A classic favorite that has become increasingly popular this year for baby showers is the baby shower cake. Diaper cakes are appealing to the eye and extremely useful for any mommy-to-be. These beautiful creations resemble a real, multi-layered cake and hold different types of essential items for your baby. The cake is constructed of good quality diapers, such as the Pampers brand, beautifully tied together with ribbon and adorned with necessary baby items like bibs, rattles, and baby bottles.

Now, there are many businesses that are exclusively dedicated to making and selling different types of diaper cakes. Baby shower cakes for baby boys are as cute as can be, and are usually themed after a "boyish" theme like sports, tools, or animals. Classic diaper cakes for baby boys are white and baby blue, with patterns like polka dots, stripes, plaid, or gingham. A baby boy-themed diaper cake makes a great-looking present, ranks among the most popular gifts for this year, and is among the most useful of all gifts.

A humorous but remarkably smart new creation that any mother of a baby boy will appreciate and use on a daily basis is the new "Pee-Pee TeePee." The name of this great, new creation probably gives you a pretty good idea of what it can possibly be. When parents of baby boys change their little diapers, they can be exposed to an unexpected spring of the little one's "pee-pee." The Pee-Pee TeePee is a cute, small teepee-shaped, 100% cotton cone that can be placed on your baby boy's wee-wee during diaper changes to avoid a pee-pee surprise! Pee-Pee TeePees come in different colors and with a decorative pattern such as little airplanes in the sky.

A very popular gift for parents of a baby boy who are sports fans or college graduates is sports fan baby boy clothing. Whether it be a college sports team or a major league team, a clothing item representing the parents' favorite sports team is bound to make smiles happen. Football or basketball jerseys, a T-shirt with the team's logo, a baseball cap, or a track suit are all fabulous ideas for baby sportswear.

Little wagon gift sets are an alternative to traditional gift baskets and have a boyish twist to the common baby shower gift. These are usually little red wagons filled with learning toys, stuffed animals, and baby essentials for your little one. Little wagon gift sets stand out from ordinary gift baskets with their extraordinary look and fun appearance.

These are some of the most popular baby boy gifts that are both fun and practical and are sure to please any new Mom, Dad and Baby.

Cute and unique ideas to decorate your baby room

By Court

When you are beginning mother had decorating the baby room can be a real chore. However it is one of the biggest chores that can be enjoyed the most. However as easy and may seem it sometimes it can be proven difficult than originally thought. If you're in this situation in your ideas are beginning to come more slowly you are on the rights the right path. Because but to many decisions is hard to make a decision.

One of the first questions that you may find asking yourself is about the gender. Will you go for a boy specific theme such as trucks and cars or for a girl's theme such as fairies? If you can't make up your mind and decide what type of decoration you want for your baby's room, then it is probably better to go for a neutral theme.

The baby room will be something that a baby can feel safe in and feel at ease in. It will need to be decorated to bare all of this in mind and to getting the balance right is not always easy. There is such a big choice to choose from so it will all be down to a personal taste but the best thing to do is not to over do it too much. It can be an exciting time decorating the baby room and some people even like to show their creative side by designing their own stencils and patterns.

Another important fact to consider when decorating your baby's room is the life span of the decoration and themes you choose. You have to think if your baby is going to be happy there when he or she is older or if you are going to be happy redecorating the whole room after a couple of years. If you really enjoy decorating, how frequently do you think you will be glad to do it?

The easiest option for some parents to be is to decorate the room with a neutral color and from there just add pieces of furniture, area rugs and small accessories that will make the room comfortable for both the baby and the mother to be. After all, this is the room where the baby will spend most of the time. These pieces of furniture and rugs can be easily changed with time as the child grows up.

However, attractiveness in a baby's room must take second place to safety. So before you buy - or make - anything, make sure you check for the latest safety guidelines. Using your common sense is of course the main thing, but sometimes issues arise that hadn't occurred to even the most devoted parent, so it's always a good thing to do some research and see what the latest studies say.

You will also have to decide on the type of furniture you will want to furnish the room with, will the cot be expandable to become a single bed after some years or will it be a cot that won't expand to bed? Will you consider having a rocking chair for breastfeeding the baby in the room or will you just have an armchair?

When The Going Gets Rough: Dealing with Potty Training Accidents

By Paul Jason James

If you have been working with your toddler on potty training, you've probably had a good number of "accidents". Accidents in potty training can be discouraging to both child and parent and may make the stretch from diapers seem wider than it really is.

You may feel that you have lost progress when a child suddenly has an accident, but occasional potty training accidents are all part of the process. It may have nothing to do with the success of your technique, but may be the child's reaction to a change, like a trip to a relative's house or a birthday party.

When these accidents happen, there are few things to keep in mind. As with many other challenges in child rearing, a positive attitude is the best weapon against potty training accidents. Try to remove the emphasis from the potty training accident itself and place it on making more progress and remembering successes.

Positive feedback is a much more important tool than making negative statements. Celebrating another dry night is more effective than reminding the child he keeps wetting himself.

If potty training accidents start happening frequently, look to external factors to try and diagnose the situation. Your child may have a medical issue like a urinary tract infection or constipation. Remember, he may not have the words to try explain what's happening or what he feels. He may be putting off going to the toilet because he does not know how to deal with an unfamiliar condition.

Another common reason for regression is the arrival of a sibling. Many couples these days choose to space their kids by about two years. Of course, two is primo potty training time, and you may see a surge in potty training accidents upon the arrival of a newcomer who is suddenly absorbing all parental attention. Respond to this situation with understanding.

Remain firm about your shared goals for potty training, but take time to discuss what's going on and give your child a chance to talk about his thoughts.

Potty Training Time

By Paul J Easton

We parents right now are always in a rush to get their kids out of diapers. Who doesn't want to? With such a tight schedule, our kids will always bother our way with their toilet sessions. Unfortunately it is not the parent who decides when a child is ready to potty train, it is the child himself. Rushing the process generally tends to backfire to us parents, making the situation longer to succeed.

Kids are physically and mentally ready to potty train at around 18-24 months old. You will begin to see signs that your child is ready by that time. They will get to start to be interested in the toilet and will want to know what you are doing on it.

Some kids will even sit on the seat and pretend to use the toilet just like an adult. You will begin to notice that your child will begin to tell you when his diaper is wet or dirty. Also, they might even begin to tell you while they are going or maybe even just before they go.

In most cases, your child will be irritated when his diaper is soiled and will tend to stay dry for a few hours at a time. These are all excellent signs of a child being ready to begin toilet training.

Another important, yet ignored, sign is when your child can pull his own pants up and down. You can make this easier with him if you let him with pants that are a little on the larger side. He will also start to show interest in big kid's underwear and ask to get some.

With these signs, now is the perfect point to introduce your child to using the potty. You can take him out and select a potty seat that catches his interest. Probably start with his favorite cartoon character or his favorite color Find some related books or DVDs about potty training and share them with your child. Make the process interesting and build some excitement.

You can also try to teach him the basic steps of using the toilet including taking off his pants and underwear, sitting on the toilet, going to the bathroom, wiping, pulling up his clothes, flushing and washing his hands.

When you are ready, here's a great tip. Start giving your child extra fluids during the day. Water is the best option. Practice taking your child to the bathroom every half hour to get him to practice using the toilet and hopefully have a successful effort.

Take your time while he is on the seat possibly singing a song or reading a short story. When he finally goes, be sure to praise him thoroughly and make a big deal about it.

By ensuring first that your child is ready to begin toilet training before doing the actual process taking your time, you will increase the chances that your efforts will be successful. Also, taking the time is the key in potty training.

Remember that your child is the one who must put the effort into the actual toileting, so make sure that he is enthusiastic about the process. Just keep things positive and in no time, no more diapers to change.

Creative Potty Training Ideas

By Paul Jason James

Many parents approach potty training with the same enthusiasm they would have for gum surgery; it's a necessary evil to be tolerated. It doesn't have to be all drudgery though if you use a little creativity to make it interesting for everyone.

When To Get Creative

Certainly, if you are already in the potty training process and things aren't going especially well, getting creative is better than getting frustrated. You don't have to wait until you're at that point though. Using some creative ideas to introduce the potty training concept to your child can prevent resistance.

Introducing the Idea

If potty training is your child's idea (or he thinks it is) the entire process becomes easier. A few thoughtfully planted comments about big kids using the potty and little kids wearing diapers can spark your child's desire to be one of the big kids and have him asking you to help him learn to use the potty.

Creating Ownership

Let your child be part of the potty training advice planning process. Take him shopping with you and let him choose his own big boy underwear and stickers to use on his potty training success chart if you use one.

Rewarding Success

Some parents are reluctant to give rewards for potty training success because they feel the child is only doing what he's supposed to do anyway. Others have great success with potty training charts where a child places a sticker each time he uses the potty with a small reward being earned for every few stickers.

Rewarding children for good behavior reinforces the behavior. Rewards don't have to be candy or snacks and are better if they aren't.

A trip to the park, an extra story at bedtime, special recognition for an accident-free day all work to motivate the child to do well again.

By spending a little time thinking of creative ways to potty train your child, you make the process more interesting and less of a chore for everyone.

Nighttime Potty Training

By Paul Jason James

For some children, nighttime potty training can be an easy and smooth transition from their daytime routine.

For these kids, simply being able to conquer bladder control during the day develops their nighttime habits enough that they are able to stay dry the majority of the time.

You may feel frustrated if your child is one of the many who have difficulty maintaining bladder control. But it's not your fault, and certainly not your child's fault. While they may have properly applied daytime bladder control, keep in mind that this is in large part a voluntary process.

At night, however, despite the child's best intentions, sometimes the signal from the bladder to the brain indicating that it is full simply doesn't come through.

For this reason, a positive attitude is a must during nighttime potty training, just as it is during the day. Having a low-stress environment where the child's self-esteem and well being are cared for facilitates the process of developing this communication from bladder to brain in the child.

This means being ready to give positive feedback for every dry night and not holding them responsible for accidents-remember, children have no more conscious control over nighttime potty training than you have over snoring or turning over when you sleep. It simply takes time.

As a parent, you can create a positive atmosphere where both you and the child are taking action while the child is awake. This means limiting evening fluid consumption and checking to make sure they make a final bathroom stop before going to sleep.

Synthetic sheets are also very useful for this as they make cleaning up after an accident a simple matter.

Having a no-fuss attitude about accidents-even if it's in the middle of the night-is an essential aspect of proper nighttime potty training. You may not be thrilled to be up at 4AM changing sheets, but just remember that the child doesn't want to be in that situation anymore than you do.

You can mitigate any feelings of shame or embarrassment by staying cool and collected. Simply change the sheets, help them go to the bathroom one more time, and go back to bed. No big deal.

Successful Potty Training is all about patience and consistent effort that will pay off over time

Baby Cribs - What You Need To Know

By Sheri

There are so many styles, kinds and price ranges for baby cribs that it can boggle the mind. The first question that you may ask is where do I start and what I should look for in a baby crib. The most important point to be aware of is the safety aspect for the childs sake. Next you want to consider were the cribs will be placed. This is important when looking at long term use and getting the most for your money while still meeting the childs needs. There are some general tips that you can use when looking for a baby crib or if you are a hobby woodworker and want to build one.

Safety is always the first thing to be concerned with when buying a baby crib. For any new crib that you buy they should meet minimum safety standards as set up by the government. If it is not a new one you will need to check and repair any problems that you may find. All of the information here can be used for this as well to ensure safety on cribs that are being built. Check all slats to be sure none are broken or missing. This holds true for all the hardware as well. You should make sure that all the hardware is properly tightened. Head boards and foot boards are adorable with the cute cutouts but they are not safe so leave these out or, if you buy one second hand, close them up so that baby cant get stuck in them.

The sides and corner posts of a baby crib are another issue that can involve a good deal of checking. Crib slats on the headboard, footboard and/or sides of the crib should not be over 2-1/8 apart. Any further and your baby could possibly get his or her little head stuck in between. All corner posts of the crib should be no higher than 1/16 above the head or footboard. Any higher and these could pose a hanging hazard. No matter if the crib comes with one or both sides that can be lowered to reach you little one, you should check them out. Make sure that the latching mechanisms are functioning properly especially their ability to properly latch closed. A baby crib with defective latches could allow the sides to drop open and the baby could possibly get injured.

The next issue in safety for baby cribs is the mattress that will be used. Even for those cribs that come with a mattress make sure that it fits snuggly into the crib on every side. It is no surprise that babies are movers, even newborns. You dont want a baby to get caught between the sides and the mattress. Mattresses should always be kept at the lowest possible position or closest to the floor.

Even though baby cribs come in different styles and sizes, you can be sure that they have the safest area possible to sleep by doing safety checks. Always thoroughly check out the crib from top to bottom to keep them safe. Babies depend on us to keep them safe, healthy and happy so dont forget to do your safety checks

Infant Car Seats Safety

By Rochelle Normski

Your child will be ready for using the car safety restraint system when s/he can sit all the way back in the seat and the knees can bend comfortably over the edge of the seat. The belt crosses the shoulder between the neck and the arm and the lap belt is low and touches the thighs. Your child must be able to remain seated the whole trip.

On the Web is a grand array of customer feedback, even ratings on child safety gear like strollers, playpens and car seats. Car seat reviews in fact give the most useful advice you could find online and offline.

Yes it is safe to use second-hand baby car seats provided you do a safety check. Belts and harnesses should not be frayed or cracked. There should be no cracks or tears in the seat cover and the seat should recline easily and stay upright when the baby is seated. Look into the history of the seat, if it has been in a car crash do not buy it, its ability to safely restrain your child has been compromised. If the seat doesn't come with a manual contact the manufacturer to ensure the seat will be properly installed. If the seat is more than 5 years old do not use it, it may have been in a crash and older baby car seats may not fit in new model cars.

If you would like to find out more about a specific product that isn't covered by the manual, the stick-on warnings, or the FAQs on the manufacturer's official Web site, you would do well to browse through and/or participate in popular online forums - nine times out of ten, you'll get exactly the information you need, and more!

Yes, there is a correct way in which to secure your child in his car seat. How you secure your baby in the car seat will likely depend on the age and size of your baby.

How much lower does this vendor sell his stuff for, than the other vendors in his trade? When are bargains due? Dealers and buyers are universally considered members of the trading site, and therefore rating systems apply for both. The wary are thus cautioned about bogus buyers and sellers, and the "bad eggs" are weeded out of the system, leaving only reliable contacts behind.

The t-shield is a padded triangle that latches at the crotch while the overhead shield comes down from over the head and latches at the crotch also. The safest harnesses are the five or six-point harnesses. These prevent excessive movement of the baby in crash situations. The t shield and the over-head shield allow for too much room and could cause your baby to be ejected from the car in a crash.

You should not shy away from other people's opinions, when it comes to looking for the best deal for your money. Child safety restraints for your car are not merely a purchase - they are an investment. And when you need to know what, where, and when to buy your car seats, few things are more helpful than online car seat reviews.

Potty Training Help

By Paul Jason James

There are often bumps along the potty training road. Knowing where to find help can make it easier for parents to get the potty training program back on track.

Your Pediatrician

He or she deals with potty training questions all day long and can well be the best person to turn to for help. The pediatrician not only can tell you about potty training in general, she can assess your child and give you her opinion of your child's readiness to undertake potty training. All the good advice in the world will be of no help if your child is not developmentally ready to be potty trained. She can also give your child a physical and identify any medical issues that may complicate potty training such as a urinary tract infection.

Books

Look for advice in parenting books, and while you're at the bookstore, get a kid's book about potty training for your child. He'll enjoy having his own book and you can use it to talk about his potty training.

Day Care Providers

If your child goes to daycare, talk to your provider. She's probably been through the potty training process with several children and can give you good advice about what's worked well in the past. It's also important that she be part of your potty training team and uses the same process you use at home to potty train your child.

Older Children

If you have older children at home or if your child is around older children elsewhere, you already know how much little kids want to be like big kids. If your child realizes that big kids use the potty and little kids wear diapers, he will soon make the decision for himself to cooperate with potty training.

Reinforcements/Rewards

Often implementing a reward system can get a stalled potty training routine moving again. A simple sticker chart and some stickers may be all your child needs to find the motivation to use the potty. Getting to choose his sticker and put it on his chart can give your child a sense of involvement in the process. Potty training help is never far away.

How To Choose Baby Nursery Bedding For Boys

By B. Fraley

If you are having a new baby boy, no doubt you are proud and excited. You'll want to have the nursery perfect so you can welcome him in style when he arrives. Of course one important thing you'll want to do is pick out great baby bedding that will make him comfy and help you decorate the rest of the nursery.

When you go about decorating the nursery for your baby boy, you may want to start by picking out a bedding set. You'll find that many baby bedding sets are available in all kinds of colors and styles. When making this choice, two things to keep in mind are quality and comfort when it comes to the baby bedding you choose. The bedding should all be of high quality and comfortable for your baby boy too.

The first thing to check out when considering baby boy bedding sets is the material quality. You'll want to make sure the material is soft, since newborns have skin that is sensitive. Ensure that you don't go with bedding that is going to be too heavy as well. You don't want a bedding set that is so heavy it keeps them from sleeping well at night.

You'll also want to make sure that the sheets fit the mattress for your new baby boy. You don't want the sheets to accidentally get pulled off while your baby is asleep, since this could put your baby in danger of suffocation.

After you find some baby bedding sets that are of high quality, then you can think about the styles that you would like to have in the baby boy nursery.

For boys, the traditional hue that is chosen is blue, and it can help to create a really lovely nursery. If you want to be somewhat traditional, but with a spin you may consider incorporating different shades of blue into the nursery. Or maybe choose baby boy bedding sets that have blue in them with other colors like soft greens and yellows.

Going with baby bedding with a theme is another great idea to consider. You'll find that there are a variety of different themes out there to choose from when you are picking out your baby boy bedding sets.

Do you enjoy sports and want to pass that on to your son? If so, consider a sports theme for the nursery. Baby bedding can be found in hockey themes, baseball themes, basketball themes, and other sports themes. If you enjoy racing, then consider a race car or NASCAR theme for the bedroom. Toy trains make a great baby boy theme as well. Really it is only your imagination that will limit you.

So be creative and go shopping. You will be surprised at what you will find!

Have a New Baby? Learn How You Can Receive Free Stuff for Moms

Children are priceless, but raising them is probably the most expensive thing a parent will ever do. And shopping for baby stuff can get expensive and there's nothing more satisfying than realizing you have a free $50 gift card to Babies R Us so you won't need to shell out your own money! But there's nothing like shopping for a newborn baby, which is one of the most beautiful experiences for an expectant mother. With a number of online outlets coming up, shopping is becoming more easy and comfortable.

But even better, this is one of the few times companies are eager to hand out free things when someone is having a baby! Offering free stuff is perhaps the easiest way for companies to also test their products too. A vast majority of people tend to buy baby products that they had first got as free stuff.

By Edie Mindell

July's birthday flower, the larkspur-or sometimes called the delphinium-denotes the sensitivity of an open heart and portrays strong bonds and attachments of the soul. The name delphinium coincides with its many dolphin-shaped flowers that are attached to the long, upright stem. The color of the flower can vary between red, yellow, purple, blue, or white, and each flower has five petals. The five petals meet and join together to form a concave flower with a spur at the end, hence the name "larkspur." Larkspurs convey a lighthearted emotion and a feeling of levity.

The gladiola gives those born in the month of August a title of courageous and brave. The Latin word gladius is the direct translation for the word sword, and the gladiola's sword-shaped stems are a visual representation for that. Symbolically, the gladiola represents moral integrity and strength. An extended meaning for the gladiola makes reference to its sword-shaped stems and its ability to emotionally pierce the heart with its stunning beauty and grace; infatuation is one of the feelings that this unique flower depicts.

September's aster is lush, rich, and exerts wild and unconventional beauty. Asters have strong association in the mythical world with magical powers and supernatural abilities. Now, this flourishing flower signifies abundant love and profuse elegance.

The essence of autumn is captured in October's birthday flower, the marigold, which was once called "Mary's Gold" by Christians. The marigold contains rich and intense colors that are bold and daring; brilliance and luminosity are characteristic of its breathtaking blossom. Marigolds are symbolic of affection, fondness, refinement, and grace.

November brings quite an interesting and unusual flower like the chrysanthemum, which is a symbol for the sun. Long ago, chrysanthemums are said to have held high positions in ancient cultures. The Japanese culture associates chrysanthemums with utmost perfection, and today, these flowers are linked to a long and healthy life. Chrysanthemums literally stand for optimism, hopefulness, and cheerfulness.

December is filled with good tidings and joy; the poinsettia is the perfect flower to portray the season's greetings and good cheer. Known as the "Christmas flower," the poinsettia is deep but bright red, and its petals are long and beautiful. Legend has it that poinsettias began as little weeds, but, when a humble, little girl placed these weeds on the church alter, they transformed into beautiful poinsettias! They began to bloom and exert a brilliant shade of red and carried charm and grace. This "Christmas flower" is the perfect symbol for merriment and joy during the holidays.

From January to December, flowers are great representations of feelings, emotions, and characteristics that can bring a special touch to your special baby shower!

How to Select a Birth Injury Attorney for Cerebral Palsy cases

By Allen Batson

Cerebral Palsy is a disorder of the motor control systems of the brain. The vast majority of CP cases are caused by damage to the developing brain of the fetus, new born or toddler. The cerebrum, also called the telencephalon, and the diencephalon constitute the forebrain. The forebrain is just behind the forehead. Cerebral palsy suffers are afflicted with one or more of three classifications of uncontrolled muscle movements - spastic, ataxic or athetoid. Medical malpractice is frequently found to be the source of the damage to the cerebrum and for this reason birth injury attorneys are often retained to pursue damage claims for cerebral palsy victims.

Your birth injury lawyer will explain to you that damage to the motor control areas of the developing brain is the cause of cerebral palsy. While it is true that recent research indicates the brain does not completely finish development until the early twenties, the motor control areas mature by the age of four. 75% of CP cases are the result of damage suffered inutero, 5% during birth and 15% after birth but before the child's 4th birthday.

Cerebral palsy is permanent. There is no cure. The condition can only be managed, and management includes ongoing physical therapy and likely medical interventions. Other possible complications include the aforementioned epilepsy as well as cognition and communication problems and behavioral disorders. These are sometimes alleviated with therapy aimed at increasing communications skills.

For all of these reasons a competent, experienced birth injury attorney is vital if your child's CP was the result of medical malpractice.

The financial cost of care and lost income in caring for a person with mild CP over the course of their lifetime is nearly $1,000,000, according to a study done in 2003. For severe cases, that figure can triple.

Professional Baby Photography

By Roy Barker

The demand for specialist professional baby photographers has increased as people realize the importance of documenting their familys lives pictorially. Not just the importance, but the sentimentality of being able to look back on the special moments in their lives and treasure them forever.

There are several criteria required to be a successful baby photographer: the first is patience. The second is lightning quick reflexes attached to a  shutter release button. The third is quality equipment, namely flash equipment, DSLR, tripod, and the aforementioned hand held shutter release. People skills are optional, but a genuine interest in children will take you further along. Most parents can sense when someone workingwith their kids is not remotely interested.

Professional photographers who have a great reputation can avail themselves of the opportunity for a life time of work. Many parents are documenting their child's life journey before they even enter the world with tasteful pregnancy shots. Grandparents are also becoming a greater portion of the market.

A professional baby photographer will be able to capture all the various moments and emotions from the total innocence and fragility of a newborn infant to the cheeky playfulness of a toddler. A truly professional photographer will be well prepared for an occasion and to travel. Quality photographers take pride in the final results and will provide unique and creative photos that the family will cherish for years.

However to create those fantastic photos you will need to have the correct equipment. At the very least, a quality DSLR, tripod, flash, and shutter release. Without these, you will have a remote chance of snapping the level of shots the client is expecting, and it will be difficult for the parents to take you seriously if you do not present with the expected photographic equipment.

Baby photography is difficult in that you cannot instruct an infant or toddler how to pose or to stay still. They are not old enough. Having the right attitude helps. So, make them feel comfortable with you " get down to their level and play with them (but be ready to get that fantastic shot). This is where your remote shutter release and tripod will come in handy " it gives instant results with no camera shake.

If you are wanting to do anything with the photos you have taken, besides sell them to the parents you will need to have the parents sign releases. No parent wants to see their child on the back of the bus if thy didn't give their permission.

Professional photographers are specialists that have experience, knowledge, creativity and the guts to create photos that are everlasting.

Breastfeeding Benefits More Than Just Your Baby

By Kim Allissa

Most people know that breast is best for baby, however they may not be aware that breastfeeding benefits the mother and all of us as a whole. Breastfeeding is something that your body has been preparing for during the entire pregnancy, and should be seen as a natural continuation of the birth process. In the following article, I will give you information on what the benefits of breastfeeding are.

First, we will discuss the breastfeeding benefits for babies:

* Infant formulas have come a long way over the years, but they will never be able to duplicate the beneficial properties found in human breastmilk. When your baby is born, your body initially provides your baby with colostrum. This is a substance that is high in protein, low in fat, and contains high numbers of antibodies. These antibodies are important for your baby in fighting infections, as he has an immature immune system. The colostrum also has a natural laxative effect, making it easier for your baby to pass his first stool, called meconium. Within the first few days after birth, the colostrum is replaced by mature breastmilk, which continues to contain antibodies.

* The literature shows that breastfed babies have decreased allergies, obesity, and ear infections, to name a few. As well, studies also reveal that they have higher I.Q.'s, and are less likely to die from S.I.D.S.

* Breastmilk is always available. It is the right temperature, contains the right combination of nutrients for your growing baby, and is convenient. This can be especially important if your baby has an impatient personality!

* Breastmilk is digested easier than formula is. This should result in less gas in your baby and consequently, a happier baby.

Now, let's discuss the breastfeeding benefits for the mother:

* It will cost you less to breastfeed. With some cans of formula being as much as $20/can, you can see how the use of formula could add up!

* The convenience of breastfeeding allows you spend more time enjoying your baby or getting some much-needed rest, instead of wasting your time washing bottles and mixing formula!

* Another breastfeeding benefit is that the literature reveals lessened opportunity for you to get breast cancer before menopause starts. It also shows a reduction in diagnoses of ovarian cancer in mothers who have breastfed.

* It is easier to lose weight when you are breastfeeding. This is because your body has become a manufacturer of milk, and will use up extra calories to do this.

* You will not have your period for several to many months. But do not be fooled into thinking that this means that you cannot conceive another baby at this time! You just never know when you might ovulate again!

* Your uterus will shrink back to its pre-pregnancy state more quickly as your baby suckles. Menstrual-type cramps, when your baby suckles in the early days, is a sign that your uterus is doing this.

For All of Us:

* A breastfed baby will result in less trips to the emergency room or pediatrician for ear infections, asthma, and so forth. This results in less healthcare costs. Decreased chances of developing obesity and/or diabetes are also important, as these kinds of conditions can extend past childhood into adulthood.

* As people become more comfortable with and learn more about breastfeeding benefits, they are more likely to see its value and encourage and support mothers.

In conclusion, breastfeeding benefits are numerous. They are of benefit to the baby, mom, and to society. Breastfeeding is something that we want to promote to increase the understanding of its true benefits for all.

Is Your Child Ready For Potty Training?

By Paul Jason James

As most parents discover, thise is no shortage of "experts" eager to tell you when to start potty training your child. It's easy to get caught up in the stories of babies being potty trained at eight months old and worry that your child is lagging behind.

The Only Rule

The first and only "rule" of potty training is RELAX. Trying to rush your child into toilet training will only upset and frustrate both of you. As a baby, your child took his first step and said his first word when he was ready; so it is with potty training. You can bet that in the "potty trained at eight months" legend, it was the parent who was trained, not the child. Anyone who sits a baby on a potty chair often and long enough, will eventually get lucky...but at what price?

The True Expert

The only one who can decide when your child is ready for potty training is your child. he will give you very clear signs that indicate he is ready to take this big step in his life. Some of the things you will notice are:

- Curiosity- he'll follow you (and everyone else) into the bathroom, curious about what you're doing. Answer his questions at his level using the terms you want his to learn and use.

- More Control- diaper stays clean for longer periods of time. You know you've hit pay dirt when he wakes up dry after naps.

- Wanting to be clean- as your child gets closer to being ready for potty training, he will begin to dislike the feel of a soiled diaper.

The Key to Potty Training Success

Patience and perseverance will win the day especially if you keep your expectations realistic. When you deal with accidents calmly and offer profuse praise for successes, your child will soon connect using the potty with praise and will want to do it more often. The potty training months can seem long, but keep in mind this is his last transition from baby to child. The time you spend sitting on the side of the tub encouraging him is precious and like all of babyhood, too quickly over.

Three Gifts for Expecting Mothers

By Kim Wright

Know an expecting mother? Wondering what you should give her? This article discusses a few of the advantages and disadvantages of certain gifts. These gifts range from baby onesies to pacifiers.

Diapers - Most people's initial reaction to buying diapers as a gift is a negative one. Who would want diaper's as a gift? Well it turns out that these plastic made contraptions are more expensive than they look and having them is a necessity. If the expecting mother is a practical person, think about giving them diapers. You may be surprised by the outcome.

Gloves - Okay, so you may have never expected this, but it just so happens little babies sometimes come with fingernails. Their fingernails are really hard to cut and it is so sad to see them scratch themselves. Little gloves or mittens are a really nice gift.

Baby Clothes - This gift is probably the most fun gift to give. Not only do you get to go shopping, but what mother doesn't love getting baby clothes. If you are looking for a good time and you want to play it safe, than baby clothes is an excellent option.

Baby clothes can sometimes be expensive, so for a cheap alternative try baby onesies. Onesies are like a large shirt that wraps around the baby's body and snaps at the bottom. These outfits come with a variety of colors and sayings.

The snaps on the bottom of baby onesies are extremely useful. When it is time to change Mr. Baby's diaper, you don't have to undress him completely. You simply have to unsnap the bottom of the onesie, change the diaper, and snap the onesie back up again when you're done.

Baby onesies with funny sayings on them are extremely cute. If you can think of a saying that your expecting mother would like, then I recommend buying them a onesie.

Buying gifts for expecting mothers can be difficult; especially when you have time or money constraints. Hopefully this article has given you some ideas about what you might potentially purchase for your upcoming baby event.

Potty Training Resistance

By Paul Jason James

Most toddlers at one time or another offer resistance to their potty training program. This can be very frustrating to parents and lead to a battle of wills with the child. Before gearing up for battle with your child, let's look at some of the reasons behind potty training resistance and what can be done about them.

Readiness

Before deciding to launch a potty training campaign, be sure your child is ready. If your toddler isn't exhibiting any of the signs of potty training readiness, they will not cooperate because they doesn't understand what you want him to do. A frustrated and confused child is a resistant child.

You'll know your child is ready when he:

- Shows curiosity about the bathroom and what happens there - Has longer periods of bowel and bladder control - Begins to tell you when they need to be changed

Stage

Most potty training begins at about the same time your child starts asserting himself and learning he can control his environment to some extent with "yes and "no". As any parent of a toddler will attest, "no" is the favorite word. A child that is telling you or ignoring you may just be practicing his new found ability to choose for himself. Find a way to present potty training in a way that he will choose it, "Big kids use the potty. Do you want to be a big kid and use the potty?"

Mixed Messages

A child can easily be confused by conflicting messages about his bodily functions. If the bathroom has been off limits previously, he may not understand why he is to go in there now. If he's been told his dirty diaper is "yucky" or "nasty" he may be anxious about elimination in general.

Overcoming Resistance

Gentle persistence and persuasion are the best tools to overcome potty training resistance. At his next pediatrician visit, ask your doctor to talk to him about potty training. The more people he can interact with that encourage him to learn to use the toilet, the stronger the message becomes.

Potty training resistance is only temporary and will pass when they are ready to begin (or continue) it.

Brain Injury? Locate the Right Birth Injury Attorney!

By Allen Batson

This article is about finding a birth injury attorney to file a lawsuit to obtain compensation for brain damage that resulted from an injury to your child. This injury will have occurred sometime between the onset of labor and shortly after birth. The cut off point for classification of an injury as a birth injury would be the completion of the immediate post-birth ablutions and diagnoses. This period would be extended by any findings that required additional care, including jaundice.

Brain damage due to a birth injury usually means perinatal asphyxia or vacuum extractors. Usually, birth injuries are caused by an improper procedure. This is different than the cause of birth defects. Birth defects can occur at the moment of conception or at different times during gestation. Ask you doctor straight out whether your child's condition is the result of a birth defect or a birth injury. Get as much info from your physician as you can get - and take notes.

The medical profession is divided into specialties for a reason - the subject is so dense, no one person can know everything about everything. The doctors are specialists: your attorney should be one, too. So start by spending a solid weekend contacting other lawyers and the lawyers of your friends, parents, siblings and co-workers. If you can't get the name of a birth injury lawyer, get the name of a personal injury lawyer and call them.

Use a lawyer who at least specializes in birth injuries. A sub-specialization in brain injuries would be fine, but brain injuries account for half of all disabilities stemming from birth injuries, so an experienced birth injury attorney will also be an experienced attorney when it comes to brain damage.

Many jurisdiction put a dollar limit on the amount of damages a child sue for in the areas of pain, suffering, mental duress and emotional distress. Ask a prospective attorney what the case is in your state and, if so, will he/she advise suing for the maximum.

Take a picture of all the little princesses standing next to the Cinderella Standup. At a full 5'1" high, it may be taller than many of the girls, but they'll look up to it in wonder. Featuring the belle of the ball in a beautiful blue dress, the photos make great keepsakes for all the parents. There are also Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, and Belle Standups so you can choose your girl's favorite character.

Select a Disney Princess Diary and your birthday girl can record all her beautiful memories of this special day. This will be a keepsake of a birthday party she will treasure for years to come.

You'll remember, too, how easy it was to arrange this magic birthday ball thanks to Disney Princess party supplies.

Uses of Auto Seat Covers

By Rochelle Normski

It is an irony that auto seat covers are the most neglected thing in a car, while so much importance is given to its looks. Auto seat covers are as important for your car as any other part of your car. These covers will keep your seats free from dirt and other harmful elements. They will also maintain their shape.

Whew, that was a close call. The bird is gone and left no souvenirs to harm the paint. That was close, a little too close. Good thing you are going out to buy a cover for your car tomorrow. Tonight you cover it with blankets (new ones, of course) and hope nothing terrible happens.

Not only is the seat cover used as protection, but it can be modified for comfort and style. Furthermore there are companies that will offer designer embroidery enabling you to promote your business, dedicate to your loved one, or create your own wacky art design! If you are an intrepid outdoorsman you can purchase heavy duty waterproof seat covers and boot liners to protect your upholstery so those fishing and camping trips wont end with you spending the whole of the next day scrubbing your seats clean. Simply pull the covers off and throw them into the washing machine.

Many seat covers are stain resistance, machine washable and waterproof and also make allowances for arm rests and recliner wheels, what ever your requirement or style is you will be able to find a car seat cover for your needs. The first thing to consider when buying a baby car seat is safety! The seat must be appropriate for your baby's size and weight. It must also fit correctly into your car. Most retailers are more than happy to give a demonstration and test the seat in your car before you buy.

Not all car covers are created equally. There are a few other things to consider when picking one out other than just inside or outside. If you are going to store the car outdoors, check to see what kind of UV protection it offers. If too many UV rays get though the cover, the paint will loose shine and the upholstery can fade. It will damage the over all look of the car.

Custom Auto Seat Covers: These auto seat covers are tailor made. They can be made as per the measured size of specified car seats. While making custom covers, every minor detail of the car seat is taken notice of and pondered over. This fitting is considered perfect, as it is specifically made to fulfill the particular requirements of the car.

Child car seats are for children aged 9 months to four years. The child must be able to support their own head and weigh between 9 and 18kgs. They face forward and are normally fitted in the back seat of the car. These types of seats are for children weighing 15 to 36kgs aged approximately 4 to 11 years old. They are primarily designed to elevate the child in order they can safely use an adult seat belt.

The thickness of the cover is something to consider as well. When a piece of pea gravel is flying at your car, you want to make sure the cover is thick enough to absorb the impact. One very important thing to look for is a good warranty. Car covers can be very expensive and you want to make sure that it does what it claims. A warranty will help you rest assured that if damage happens to your car while it is covered, you are covered.

Potty Training Problems

By Paul Jason James

Potty training is new territory for your toddler. Up until now, they have been happy-go-lucky, learning about her new world at there own pace and making all kinds of exciting discoveries. They have learned how to form sounds into words that communicate what they want, she's learned how to put her legs under her and walk and all this was done at her own pace. They probably thinks she invented walking and talking. Now all of a sudden, someone has decided she will no longer relieve herself in her diaper and plops her down on a potty and tells her to "go".

This is fertile ground for potty training problems. Prevention is the Best Cure Look at potty training from the child's perspective. What kind of introduction has she had to the toilet and the bathroom in general. Has this room been off-limits before now? Let her follow you into the bathroom before you start potty training her. Answer the questions that occur.

Let her flush the toilet and sit on it with the lid closed first. Believe it or not, many children are afraid of the toilet. They see things go down and not come back and wonder if that can happen to them.

When they are comfortable being around the toilet, let her sit on the seat. If they feels afraid, buy her a potty seat that snaps on securely or a potty chair. Humans are born with the fear of falling and sitting on a toilet seat with nothing under her can make your child feel like she's going to fall.

Regression, is when a child begins to learn potty training, then suddenly seems to lose ground. Children who were perfectly happy to go along with the potty training routine all of a sudden begin having accidents frequently. Regression isn't always a problem.

There may be an external factor such as a change in the environment that's causing the regression or it may just be that they want to slow down a little. Most experts agree that periods of regression are normal during potty training and, unless there is a medical condition such as a urinary tract infection, they do not need intervention. Simply continue to gently encourage her with her potty training and they will get back on track.

Most potty training problems can be identified by looking at them through your child's eyes. Inconsistencies, fears, punishment for accidents and regression can all trigger potty training problems.
