By James A Mason

For any parents to be there are a number of important purchases that they will to make prior to the arrival of the new addition to their family. Of all the purchases that they will make one of the most important and most expensive is the pram or pushchair. As there are so many different ones to choose from finding one that is perfect for them can prove a challenge. In this article we look at the advantages of 2-in-1 pushchairs over say the more traditional pram or a 3-in-1 pushchair.

The first thing that parents to be will notice with this type of pushchair is that the part in which the baby will travel can be easily converted from a pram into a pushchair just through the pressing of a number of buttons or levers. Plus to further ensure that the baby is kept safe and secure when travelling in this kind of pushchair the makers provide a fabric apron and hood.

So for what reasons should parents to be consider purchasing this type of pushchair instead of the 3-in-1 kind or a traditional pram? In this article we look at some of the advantages to parents of purchasing this type of pushchair.

Advantage 1 " These pushchairs are suitable for using immediately after a baby has been born and until they reach the age of around 3. Normally by the age of 3 most children have outgrown sitting in a pushchair or stroller and prefer to be walking around by themselves.

Advantage 2 - As with the 3-in-1 pushchairs this type allows the part in which the child is travelling to be removed completely from the chassis without too many problems.. The handles that it has on the sides then allows the parents if they wish to use it as a carrycot.

Advantage 3 " During the first few weeks a baby will spend quite a considerable amount of time sleeping and because this pushchair can be placed in a fully reclined position it allows them to sleep when they want. However, as the baby grows older and becomes more aware of its surrounding and finds it easier to sit up the carriage part can be put into the upright position when required, but then reclined when the child becomes sleepy.

Advantage 4 " One thing that may determine whether parents to be choose this type of pushchair over some of the others is the cost. These ones tend to cost considerably less than the 3-in-1 pushchairs and there are far less attachments to take off of them. A 3-in-1 pushchair often comes with a separate car seat attachment, pushchair attachment and carrycot attachment.

Advantage 5 " Because the carrycot and the pushchair convert from one to the other this particular style of pushchair comes with the safety harness attached. So not only can it be worn by the baby when sat up and may be when they are laid down offer some additional protection. To ensure that the harness does not rub on the baby a special liner or mattress is included.

In this article we have shown you some of the advantages of 2-in-1 pushchairs and which may help you to make a more informed decision as what will the be right sort of pram or pushchair for your child. But don't forget these one's don't come with a car seat and so when the child needs to go in a vehicle you must ensure that you use a good quality one of these.
