Double Strollers With A Sporty Racing Twist

By Chloe Williams

The Peg Perego Duette SW is a serious stroller. The SW in the name stands for steering wheel. And the inventiveness of this product greets you right in the hands. The handlebar has been partially replaced by an adjustable steering wheel. All you Type A personalities and race-car wanna-bes take note! You see with the steering wheel, you can control the front wheels. And therefore, control the stroller with much greater ease.

All the wheels on the Peg Perego have suspensions. And there are brakes on the back wheel which are controlled with a foot tap near the back right wheel. So you're completely in control with this double stroller. And not only flexible with the braking options, but the seating options allow the owner to place the seats in two ways. One, the parallel front-back arrangement where both children face forward. And two, the seats can rearrange to face one another, so the kids can look at each other as a tandem stroller. It's a very flexible setup and one that is fairly unique in the baby stroller marketplace. Many parents will really love this feature.

The seats not only come with a standard canopy, but it's really a full sun visor that comes completely forward over both seats. This is ideal for shielding the riders from very windy days or excessive sunlight, or the beginning of sprinkles and light rain showers. This is a feature that many double strollers do not have, so it's a bit of a luxury that frankly is often a necessity. It's nice to know this is available in the Peg Perego.

The line of Peg Perego strollers are from Italy. Many parents have mentioned that the quality of construction in the Peg Perego line is a step up from other manufacturers. The parts are quite solid and feel like a whole unit rather than a variety of tidbits cobbled together. You do often get what you pay for. This is a more expensive double stroller but it also holds together well too. There are a couple other points also to consider that are discussed in this article.

This tandem stroller is a bit more challenging to fold and doesn't compact into a tiny space. But one advantage in spite of this is that the ever-popular Primo Viaggio SIP car seats can attach directly to the stroller. So you can go out of the car and directly into the double stroller with these seats.

Though the total weight is a lot, the chassis itself weighs just 11 kg or about 25 lbs. That's actually light for this type of stroller and compared with similar products. If you're using the car seats as the carriers on the chassis, you would simply take them off and reduce the weight you need to lift into the vehicle to pack up and go. It's probably not the greatest travel stroller due to its larger size. But it has all the comforts needed to keep in town for the kids.

So you can tell this is a well-thought out product. Peg Perego is known for quality. This line will extend that tradition by all accounts and be a winning choice for a lot of busy families. I can imagine people I know and places I go where I would get quizzical looks and then have people stop and ask to drive the Peg Perego SW, because it's a new look and one that adds a little more driving fun to the stroller experience.
